One prevalent inductive fallacy is asserting a correlation in such a way that a cause is implied. You see this in commercials a lot. Sometimes it's just laziness - there is other proof, that's just not being stated. But since it gets people in the habit of jumping to conclusions, it's become a pet peeve of mine.

A member of the audience corrected me about the cholesterol/heart disease connection - apparently the correlation that was noticed was between high cholesterol and heart attack fatality.
